Hello Guys,

As we all know most of the  Organization/Users are moving to the Cloud Approach. But this is something like a unknown place which where you will learn to manage after being interacting with them.

So I am writing this post to make you all aware about how VMware public Cloud offering vCloud Air is manage.This will be a long series about whole vCloud AIR Managment . Hope you all will like it.

For my first post about vCloud Air, I am sharing the Way to work with the vCloud Air & Manage the User/Group access and identity.

1. First of all you need to open the Login page of vCloud Air in your Web Browser . https://vca.vmware.com . it will redirect to the nearest Datacenter according to your Geo-Location.

2. Login with your User id and password which was generated for you when you order for vCloud Air access.

3. After you logged in to the vCloud Air Portal you can see multiple services which you opted .Select the Identity and Access Management

4. you will be redirected to the User Management Page. For Adding the new User you need to select image Button.

5. Fill the details of the users you are registering for.( Users Email id need to be mandatory ) and Click on the Add User. Which will push an Email to the email id you filled in details..

Note : There are multiple Role Type so carefully assign the user permission as per requirement. The access and permission levels are given below.

Account Administrator – Allows access to all compute resources, operations, and user management

Virtual Infrastructure Administrator – Allows management of assigned VDCs and all contained VMs

Network Administrator
– Allows network management for assigned VDCs

Read-Only Administrator
– Allows read only access to assigned VDCs and all contained VMs

End User
– Allows management of VMs in the assigned VDCs

6.  User will get the email from the vCloud Air subscription service with the password reset link. and the User can reset the password using that.

7.  Group Management. – you can also Create/ Manage / Delete the Group for different use cases (e.g Network Admins, System Admins)  and modify the Membership of the users, permission of the Groups. Same like User roles Group also have some roles.

– Allows read only access to assigned VDCs and all contained VMs

End User
– Allows management of VMs in the assigned VD
